The boiler insurance or boiler cover is an insurance that cover for any replacement or repair of the home boiler. It can be used also to cover the plumbing system, heating system and electrical system.

Most of homes have boilers to heat their water and their home. However, the problem is that replacing or repairing the boiler is expensive and it is not covered in the home insurance. You take out the cover only if you are living in your own home or if you are a landlord. If you are living in social housing or if you are renting, then you are not responsible to take out the boiler insurance.

The premium for the boiler insurance is paid monthly or yearly. You can pay the premiums for three different type of the insurance, the boiler alone, the full heating system, or boiler and services. The boiler only covers the boiler and its heating controls. It is the cheapest boiler insurance. The boiler and services, since boilers have to be services every year,  if you take this cover all the services will be made free of charge.

The Full Heating system is the most expensive type of insurance and it covers the boiler with all the central heating service. Company that deals with the home insurance company it also offers the services, and it is not a must that you should  have another insurance cover with the company if you want to get the services.

The boilers covers have different rules and regulations. They may have different types of time that you have to call the engineer, how much money that the repair cost and when you have to call under the emergency provision. After paying for the cover, you will have 30-45 days without making any claim. This is to make sure that people do not take out the cover simply because they had already problems with their boilers.

It is hard to get a cover for the boiler that is more than 15 years old. It is advised to buy a new boiler than to pay more for coverage of old boiler. When you pay for the boiler, you have to make sure that you understood  all the terms such as the minimum hours that the engineer will come for the services and what it is considered emergency when you need to call during weekends.

There are many factors to consider before you decide the company in which to pay for your boiler cover. Each boiler insurance has its different terms and conditions. It is better if you decide about the cover to take out after getting more than one quotation from different companies. Sometime the company can also visit your home before it decides to give you a cover or not. Remember that regardless if you have the boiler insurance or not, you should always remember to service your boiler regularly, if it leaks it can cause death or damage to your house.
